February's Grove Art Festival is too big, a triple-feature movie zapped with garish commercials. When we went two weeks ago people tried to sell us condos and newspaper subscriptions and a Buick.
There is an alternative,
this Sunday we're having a Grove art show that's free, not too crowded, and totally fun. It's the
GIFFORD LANE ART STROLL
and it's the way an art show should be.
The Stroll is a blocked-off residential street. 70 artists hang their work anywhere they can. There's food and live music too.
Gifford Lane is two blocks north of Grand Avenue and one block east of SW 32 Avenue. Francesca and I will be manning the first booth again. We will be selling
Fish Bike Helmet
funky fish, thrift shop paintings, and other fantastic creations. Every Mango Republic t-shirt sale includes a free beer.
We look forward to this event every year. Why? It's free and friendly, the spirit of the Grove we love.
The street party "Stroll" is Sunday from noon to five.
We look forward to seeing you there.
