FEBRUARY IN THE GROVE

Hola!

    Last weekend we got to enjoy The Tempest on the Barnacle State Park stage.  More than 800 turned out for the 15th century show Saturday night.
 


Now tune into into these upcoming Coconut Grove Events,
Tuesday, Feb. 3 

-Art Gallery Opening, "The Beast",  KROMA
3640 Grand Avenue.  6-9 pm.   Come enjoy and support this outstanding addition to our community.



-Free Concert at Plymouth Church.  The Air Force's
Brass in Blue ensemble.  Jazz and Broadway show tunes. 7:30 pm.

Sunday February 8

-Music for Bob
  Bob Heath was our friend and he died last November.
Bob directed Plymouth's music program and performed all over for years.
At 2 pm come enjoy the "Celebration of Bob Heath's Musical Legacy" at Plymouth Church.
His ultra-talented friends will perform with instruments and song. Free, 2 pm

-Volksblast
Noon to 6 pm in downtown South Miami.  Site of the South Miami King Mango Strut parade
five years ago. The King is resting but you can go and see 200 old VW's and what's even more interesting, the characters who drive them.  Live
music and food as well.  Free!

-Barnacle Under Moonlight Concert
featuring string musicians Dana and Sue Robinson.  6:30 to 8:30 pm.
On the beautiful bayside lawn.  $10.  3485 Main Highway

-A Concert of Youth and Hope
featuring South Florida's four finest, super incredible classical musicians playing with the Alhambra Orchestra.   I see these competition winners perform every year and they will amaze you
(or put you asleep if you aren't into Shumann, Sibelius, and the like).

Thursday, February 12

-One Billion Rising, Revolution Miami
A rally and march to stand up for the Women of the World and the many 
injustices they have to endure.  Addressing the problems of sex trafficking
and domestic violence here in South Florida.
Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus 4-6 pm.  March at five followed by
live music, dancing and drumming.  Facebook.com/onebillionrisingMiami ,


  Roberto Berrocal in concert, St. Hugh Church 8 pm   3460 Royal Road.
Piano Man Roberto blew away the audience at last year's show.  Hear him playing Haydin, Chopin, and Liszt. $30 for this outstanding, intimate affair.
